100 Reasons to Live was a multi-medium arts installation project in collaboration with Manasquan High School and the Mental Health Association of Monmouth to help stop teen suicide and promote the idea that life is good! 48 local teens contributed to the different works that were on display in the 100 Reasons to Live gallery. Projects completed by contributors include several original songs, two videos, sculptures, paintings, creative writing and more. The gallery even housed a student built swing, a tent, and a large cardboard ipod.
Local teens were invited to contribute to this unique life-inspired arts exhibit. The program was FREE to participants and the resulting projects included many different arts mediums. Participants selected a “reason to live” off our brainstorming wall and interpreted it using any art form they wanted (ie pictures that represent the reason, paintings that show the reasons, a song or monologue about that reason to live, etc).
The gallery also included a sticky note wall. Every time you walked in the door, you wrote your reason to live for that day on a note and stuck it to the wall. Click HERE to check out the notes that ended up on the Manasquan Recreation Annex Wall!
